8th Annual Saxophone Workshop
with Andy Scott 14-20 May 2017
Our Saxophone Workshops are a fantastic opportunity to spend a week working with Andy Scott and enjoy playing the saxophone with other enthusiasts.
*New for 2017 – Andy & James will film and record you performing a short piece that you will have developed at Creative Vacances! Head home with your own ‘show reel’ to share with family & friends!*
Andy provides music and you are welcome to bring any music of your own, solo and/or to share with the group.
Andy directs ensembles, solo performance classes, technique, improvising, transcribing, composing and arranging sessions. The message is;
Sound intonation technique
Andy is noted for his musical versatility and creativity as a saxophonist and composer and so will be covering many genres of music during the week including classical and traditional pieces as well as jazz, funk and various latin jazz styles.
During the week there will be 5 days of tuition split into 2 hour morning and afternoon sessions. Andy will organise a jam session one evening and there will be an end of course informal concert . Wednesday afternoon is free to play or explore the surrounding area.
Andy will also offer a half hour private lesson during the week, which have proved extremely popular
The relaxed and informal setting at La Moreau is perfect for indulging your passion for playing the saxophone and having a great holiday experience at the same time
The workshop is a unique week in the saxophone workshop calendar where you can really have fun and take full advantage of Andy’s vast experience in the world of music and music education.
We are delighted that saxophonist/pianist James Cummings (Graduate RNCM) will be with us once again as course assistant to Andy.
The atmosphere at Creative Vacances is very supportive and encouraging with the Saxophone Course aimed at the beginner to the more experienced player (you should be able to read music), with Andy and James tailoring your timetable to ensure that you get the maximum out of the week and go home a better musician!
There will be a maximum of 12 participants.
