* New for 2017*
Mandolin and Guitar Workshop
29 May – 4 June 2017
About the Workshop.
This year Dave is teaming up with singer/guitarist Jim Reynolds to provide an in depth look at Folk Blues and Ragtime for both mandolin players and guitarists. Dave and Jim bring a wealth of experience in performing and teaching to create a truly exciting experience for players of both instruments in the beautiful surroundings of La Moreau in the Charente Maritime region of France.
Dave and Jim will teach both separately and together allowing students individual attention on their instrument and then bringing players together to share and combine their experiences.
For mandolin players Dave will be focussing on melody, accompaniment and some improvisation.
For guitarists Jim will be teaching his wonderful blues and ragtime fingerstyle.
All culminating in playing and singing together by the end of the week.

who’s it for.
Players should have at least two years playing experience and have a good knowledge of the fingerboard and knowledge of chords. The ability to read music will be an advantage but is not essential. Teaching materials will include lyrics, chord charts and exercises in notation and TAB. These will be available as PDF files for students to print out in advance of the course.
Some music stands are provided please check with Creative Vacances before setting out if you need to bring one.

“Wouldn’t miss it after this years experience. It was fantastic, great hosts, location idyllic, music mindblowing, company and food delectable. Plus it sounds like a logical progression – it means I will have to work hard on my mando techniques to keep up” Dave
